Zelten

Ingredients

  • 120 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 sachet of dessert yeast
  • milk and salt
  • 200 g walnuts
  • 300 g figs
  • 150 g pine nuts
  • 150 g sultanas
  • 100 g candied citron
  • grated peel of one orange
  • a glass of brandy
  • 200 g halved walnuts

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar and eggs together, then add the flour, yeast and salt and then, mixing with a wooden spoon, the milk. Add half of the chopped walnuts, chopped figs, whole pine nuts, citron, sultanas, orange peel and the brandy.
  2. Knead everything for approximately 15 minutes and then place into a greased and floured baking pan; lay the dough out with your hands until it is approximately 1cm thick. Decorate with the halved walnuts and put into a hot oven for approximately forty minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven when the surface has browned.
